OBJECT AND MISSION
OBJECTIVES: The Objectives of the Association / Company Limited By Guarantee, shall be:
1.The Association is apolitical, a-religious, anti-racist, anti-bullying, anti-discrimination and inclusive, Multicultural and Universalist.
2. The Association is a non-profit organization with the aim for charitable status to Promoting social inclusion for the public benefit, relieving the needs of people who are socially vulnerable (particularly young, elderly, disabled, unemployed or citizens with origin in classes less prospers or social unprotected, that living or not in the area of influence of the Community center, and helping them to integrate into the society).
3-1) For the purpose of this clause is considered the following factors: language barriers, unemployment; financial difficulty; youth or old age; health problems (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs; discrimination based on sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender reassignment; poor education and skills; relationship and dysfunctional family; poor housing (which is housing that did not meet basic standards of habitability); crime (or as the victim of a crime or as an offender rehabilitation in society).
3-2) Develop the capacity and the public members' skills in general, so that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs in employment promotion, vocational training, citizenship, basic courses of English language, new technologies, health and safety , first aid, kitchen and others in order to participate more fully in the society, and become more autonomous citizens.
4) Provide or assist with equipment and other resources in the social welfare interest for leisure, culture and sports, promoting leisure time of individuals in need with encouragement, opportunity and appropriate place, because due to his youth, illness age or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances do not have it, in order to improve their living conditions.
5) Create opportunities for national and international students exchange their experiences or community members with other groups or community centers, providing the development of links and relations between United Kingdom and all countries Speakers of other languages with first focus with Portuguese-speaking countries in areas such as universities, arts, culture, society and economy.
Key Action Areas:
"TOGETHER FOR ALL", reflect the Christian Inspiration of the Founders, AFROLUSO, HEROIS DO MAR and MANUEL & ANNA Community Center, will give priority to providing support in three main areas, Employment, Education and Health. which are of greatest importance in relation to the current needs.
6) Access to Employment and Vocational Training:
- Advice and support in employment search, interview preparation and CV tools.
-English teaching provision to facilitate access to specific areas of expertise in the area of communication and IT marketing.
-Specialized training provision and qualification (Food & Hygiene, etc.) with organization of collaboration by Key partners of the AFROLUSO, HEROIS DO MAR and MANUEL & ANNA Community Center in Uk such as UNITE and TUC, among others.
-Develop and provide activities to strengthen self-confidence, specific or integrated in the above activities.
7) integration and citizenship
-Development and provision of an efficient and reliable information service, advice and guidance.
- Support access to public sector services such as social housing, health, education, etc.
- Provide access to legal, tax information, document filling, IRS, identification, social security, etc.
8) Education
-Support to access education system, interchange opportunities for students and scientists, researchers and teachers.
- English lessons, Portuguese, Sign Languages, IT, Music, Art, Drama, other.
9) Fundraising
-To support the above activities, AFROLUSO, HEROIS DO MAR and MANUEL & ANNA Community Center, will implement a specific framework for fundraising in order to ensure self-sustainability, different types of fundraising:
- Raising funds from institutional sources, by creating projects funded for activities and maintenance of basic infrastructure and operation of the project.
- Another type of initiatives for fundraising (events, etc.) for the maintenance of basic infrastructure and operation of the project with Internet cafe, health and beauty room, donations shop selling.
Complementary areas of action:
10) Support associations and Groups Providing support to other organizations and groups, capacity-building, cohesion, training and support to the development of other associations and groups, as well as in its management and looking for sources of funding ,.
11) Health
- Workshops on issues related to health and hygiene, education child.
12) Culture
- Provide information of the cultural events organized by other organizations, creating a network of providers of cultural activities, lifting and cultural exchange stimulus, promote recognition and disclosure of culture of the Lusophone universe.
13) Support and partnership with the Entrepreneurs
- Provide support in the disclosure of local businesses with information about international opportunities in the locals of other community centers, organizing workshops and forums to promote trade exchange in support of goods export.
- Promotion of national products in various markets.
