Os HEROIS DO MAR, Nasceram em 2004, e as primeiras reunioes realizaram-se no cafe BOCA DOCE cuja proprietaria Alex de Almeida disponibilizou para os encontros de preparacao para o arranque da Associacao, foi ai que foi escolhido o nome e se deram os primeiros passos, com a ajuda logistica da Organizacao COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS, por intermedio do Development Worker ROB GREGORY.Foi decidido que a Associacao seria uma Unincorporated organization tendo como Umbrella a Community Connections que trataria de todos os aspectos legais e organizacionais,O processo foi liderado por Alex de Almeida e Pedro Rosa com o acompanhamento de Rob gregory.

A Associação desde 2007, se apoiou numa condição e figura jurídica em muito diferente das IPSS´s similar a uma Fundacao em Portugal,  com cerca de 45.000 servicos prestados gratis ate 2016 +/- 4.000/ano, funcionando 12 horas diárias e sete dias por semana, de forma permanente. Das mais diversas actividades sociais, destaca-se a que maior impacto tem provocado na comunidade e que passa por disponibilizar de refeições diminuindo as dificuldades de muitos cidadãos lusófonos. e actualmente com parceria desde 2016 com GYUWC, Unemployed Workers centre, ajudaram mais de 3.800 cidadaos de todas as comunidades, com documentos, beneficios, legal  advise evictions, etc. em parceria com o Citizen Advice e Job Centre.

2009 - Associacao registada na companies House desde Abril 2007 ate 2013, tendo a personalidade juridica de Social-Enterprise. A partir de 2013 assume o espirito de Fundacao e Toda a estrutura e suportada fisica, organizacional e economicamente pelo trabalho do Presidente o Manuel Mendonca e Ana  Farias. Nos ultimos 3 anos as dificuldades tem sido mais que muitas mas nem por isso o sonho se desfaz, nao e hoje sera amanha, Somos Portugueses e cidadaos de Great yarmouth, e aqui lutamos pelo bem estar de todos pois e aqui que nossos filhos estao a construir o seu futuro. Continuamos a estabelecer pontes entre os membros da nossa comunidade e as instituicoes inglesas, pretendemos que nos compreendam nas nossas peculiaridades e entendam a nossa maneira de ser, respeitem a nossa cultura e nos aceitem tal como somos, Portugueses, Brasileiros, Angolanos, Timorenses, Mocambicanos, Guineenses, Cabo-Verdianos, Saotomenses e Macaenses, todos  Lusofonos e com orgulho da nossa lingua da nossa heranca dos paises de onde somos originarios.

Manuel & Ana have spent the last eleven years dedicating their lives to building a community hub at Herois do Mar in Yarmouth. They have helped thousands of individuals and dozens of organisations across the borough in a tireless effort to bring people together. In light of their imminent departure for Norwich, we're hosting a party to celebrate their huge contribution to Great Yarmouth with some presentations on behalf of the many union, political and community organisations that are grateful to Manuel and Ana

2009 - Association registered in companies House from April 2007 to 2013, having the legal personality of Social-Enterprise. From 2013 onwards, it assumes the model of Foundation All structure is supported physically, organizationally and economically by the work of the Manuel Mendonca and Ana Farias. In the last 3 years, the difficulties have been more than many, but the dream not die, it will not be today, will be tomorrow, we are Portuguese and citizens of UK in Great yarmouth, and here we fight for the well-being of all, for our children could build their future. We continue to establish bridges between the members of our community and the English institutions, we want them to understand us in our peculiarities and understand our way of being, respect our culture and accept us as we are, Portuguese, Brazilian, Angolan, Timorese, Mocambicans , Guineanse, Cape Verdians, Saotomenses and Macaense, all Lusophone is proud of our language of our heritage from the countries where we originated.

The HEROIS DO MAR born in 2004, and the first meetings were held in the BOCA DOCE cafe owned by Alex de Almeida, she made available for the preparatory meetings to start the Association, where the name was chosen and the first steps were taken with the logistical help of the COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS Organization supported by Baptist Church, through the help of Development Worker ROB GREGORY. It was decided that the Association would be an Unincorporated organization having as Umbrella of Community Connections that would deal with all the legal and organizational aspects, The process was led by Alex de Almeida and Pedro Rosa with the advise of Rob gregory. Since 2007, the Association has relied on a condition and legal figure that is very different from IPSS's similar to a Foundation in Portugal, with about 45,000 services provided free of charge until 2016. +/- 4,000 / year, running 12 hours a day and 7 days per week, permanently. Of the most diverse social activities, it stands out that the greatest impact has provoked in the community and that is to provide meals reducing the difficulties of many Portuguese-speaking citizens. and currently partnering since 2016 with GYUWC, Unemployed Workers center, have helped more than 3,800 citizens of all communities, with documents, benefits, legal advise about evictions, debts. Universal credit in partnership with Citizen Advice and Job Center.
